Making a cup of tea can be a simple yet delightful process. Here are a few different recipes for various types of tea, including black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and chai.
Basic Black Tea
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose black tea
- Sugar/honey/milk (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil the water in a kettle or saucepan.
- Place the tea bag or loose tea in a cup or teapot.
- Pour the boiling water over the tea.
- Steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
- Remove the tea bag or strain out the loose tea.
- Add sugar, honey, or milk to taste, if desired. Stir and enjoy!


Green Tea
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 green tea bag or 1 teaspoon loose green tea
- Lemon or honey (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat the water until just below boiling (about 175°F or 80°C).
- Add the tea bag or loose tea to a cup or teapot.
- Pour the water over the tea.
- Steep for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the tea bag or strain out the loose tea.
- Add lemon or honey if you like. Stir and enjoy!
Herbal Tea (Chamomile)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 chamomile tea bag or 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers
- Honey or lemon (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil the water in a kettle or saucepan.
- Place the chamomile tea bag or dried flowers in a cup.
- Pour the boiling water over the chamomile.
- Steep for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the tea bag or strain out the flowers.
- Add honey or lemon to taste, if desired. Stir and enjoy!


Chai Tea (Spiced Indian Tea)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of milk (or milk alternative)
- 1-2 teaspoons loose black tea or 1 tea bag
- 1-2 teaspoons sugar (to taste)
- Spices (e.g., cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, ginger, cloves, or black pepper)
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine water and spices. Bring to a boil.
- Add the black tea and boil for another 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in milk and sugar, then bring back to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Strain into a cup to remove tea leaves and spices.
- Adjust sugar to taste and enjoy!
Iced Tea
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of water
- 4 tea bags (black, green, or herbal)
- Sweetener (sugar or honey, optional)
- Lemon or mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil 4 cups of water in a pot.
- Remove from heat and add tea bags. Let steep for 5-10 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and, if desired, stir in sweetener while it's still warm.
- Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lemon or mint if desired.
